Captured while in Colorado. I really wanted to use a telephoto lens, but mine was in the car, which was about a 10 minute walk away in each direction. The wind was also blowing pretty hard on the rocky terrain, so I couldn’t set up my tripod. Instead, I had to do a “lunge forward” yoga stance across two tall boulders and prop the camera on my knee and hope I could hold it still long enough to get the shot. A couple of minutes after I took this photo, the skies opened up and a torrential rainstorm hit me as I ran (well, walked briskly but safely) to the shelter of my car.
