While wandering around the High Line Park on the west side of Manhattan, I spotted this building. Something about the fire escape caught my eye, reminding me of my youth running up and down narrow alleys and climbing fire escapes for fun, and I snapped this shot. I wanted to evoke feelings of urban nostalgia, so I decided to process it as a sepia-toned B&W. I think this photo feels as if it could have been taken any time from the 1960’s to yesterday.
