This is a shot I took while wandering within a bamboo “forest” on the island of Maui, Hawaii.  This isn’t the place most people think of when they talk about the bamboo forest on Maui.  That forest is found on the Pipiwai trail on the backside of the Road to Hana.  This particular bamboo forest is actually on the Road to Hana, near mile marker 7.  It’s not very large as forests go, but the height of the trees is amazing and hearing them sway in the wind is both eerie and calming.
